The summer before my sophomore year at UNG I was given the opportunity to make a difference in my community by working as a graphic design artist with the Environmental Leadership Center at the University of North Georgia (UNG). By working with students, staff, and community members, the ELC works to promote environmental sustainability in the Dahlonega area. The ELC has 4 departments, each with their own unique goal in helping the community, the Ecological Protection Lab (aka the Beetle Lab), the Water Lab, UNG Campus Sustainability, and the Chestatee Restoration Project.
